October Program Spotlight
Program Spotlight: A Wonderful Beginning to Our 2026–2027 Season!
Celebrating Great Books, Meaningful Conversations, and the Joy of Coming Together.
What a wonderful way to begin a new season! On October 1, The Prologue Society welcomed members, guests, and fellow nonfiction enthusiasts for our highly anticipated season-opening luncheon—an afternoon filled with intellectual curiosity, engaging conversation, and a shared love of great storytelling.
There is something truly special about bringing together a community of like-minded individuals who appreciate the power of nonfiction to inform, inspire, and broaden our understanding of the world. Our opening luncheon was a beautiful reminder of what makes The Prologue Society such a unique and vibrant community.
We were delighted to welcome acclaimed author Robert Kolker, whose fascinating book, The Vanishing Family: Love, Fate, and the Quest to End Dementia, provided the foundation for an extraordinary afternoon. Kolker captivated our audience with his knowledge, thoughtful insights, and remarkable ability to bring complex subjects to life through compelling storytelling.
The afternoon was made even more memorable by Dr. Marc E. Agronin, a leading Alzheimer's disease expert, geriatric psychiatrist, and advocate for purposeful aging, who graciously introduced Kolker. His expertise brought an especially meaningful perspective to the occasion.
Beyond the exceptional presentation, the luncheon offered something equally valuable: the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, welcome new ones, exchange ideas, and enjoy the kind of thoughtful conversations that make our gatherings so rewarding.
As we celebrate the beginning of another exciting season, we are reminded that The Prologue Society is about so much more than books. It is about community, connection, and the endless possibilities that come from learning together.
A heartfelt thank you to Robert Kolker, Dr. Marc Agronin, and everyone who joined us to make our season opener such a memorable occasion.
Here's to another extraordinary season of nonfiction, fascinating authors, and conversations that stay with us long after the luncheon ends!
We look forward to seeing you at our next gathering on November 20, featuring acclaimed author Liaquat Ahamed.
