About the Author:
Liaquat Ahamed is a financial historian, with degrees in economics from both Harvard and Cambridge universities and over two decades worth of professional experience as an investment manager. His new book, 1873: The Rothschilds, the First Great Depression and the Making of the Modern World will be published in June 2026. His previous book Lords of Finance: The Bankers Who Broke the World was awarded the 2010 Pulitzer Prize, the Council on Foreign Relations Arthur Ross Gold Medal and the Financial Times Best Business Book of the Year. Ahamed is the Board Chair of the Sun Valley Writers’ Conference, a trustee of the Putnam Funds, and a trustee emeritus of New America Foundation, and the Brookings Institution.

Guests: Non-members are welcome to attend up to one luncheons per season. Members may bring with them an unlimited number of non-member guests, as long as the guests, individually, abide by the above Non-member Guest policy.
