
Dr. R. Judith Tuchman Ratzan
Dr. R. Judith Tuchman Ratzan is a physician, educator, and lifelong learner whose distinguished career in hematology and oncology has been defined by compassion, curiosity, and service. A graduate of Smith College and Tufts University School of Medicine, she has spent decades caring for patients and mentoring the next generation of physicians. She currently serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University and previously held academic and leadership positions at the University of Miami and Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Ratzan has devoted her time to advancing ethics, education, and community well-being through numerous leadership roles, including serving as President of the Dade County Medical Association and on the board of the Leukemia Society of America’s South Florida Branch. Honored as a Woman of Vision by the Weizmann Institute of Science, she brings to The Prologue Society a lifelong love of learning, literature, and thoughtful conversation—values that continue to inspire her work and her engagement with the world.
